Privacy Policy for Reddit Posts API

Stored email, credential hashes, credit usage and payment records. Account-data retention, invoice recovery in localStorage, session cookies and Statinside analytics.

Information we store and process

Reddit Posts API retains your email address and a hash of your password to verify your identity during account access, ensuring we never store your plaintext password. We also store API key hashes for secure authentication and IP information to prevent abuse of our services. Additionally, payment transaction records are kept to accurately account for API credits, allowing us to verify payments and manage your billing history effectively. We also retain API key prefixes and credit-usage records. This policy identifies categories of stored information; it does not publish actual hashes or account secrets.

Account-data retention

No fixed retention period or automatic deletion deadline for account data is specified. This concerns account, usage and payment information; it does not define how long archived Reddit records remain available. It promises neither indefinite account retention nor deletion on a particular date. Your saved research responses and annotation files are separate from the information used to operate this account. This policy does not establish retention rules for your local study or guarantee that future remote queries recreate it.

Browser storage and analytics

The widget stores invoice and user IDs in localStorage separately per hostname to recover the saved invoice. It does not persist the raw API key there. Account authentication uses a Secure HttpOnly session cookie, distinct from retrieval headers. HttpOnly does not make localStorage inaccessible to scripts. Pages include Statinside site 43 analytics, without a claim about its exact collection fields or cookie behavior. Keys and balances are scoped to this domain, despite network-wide anti-abuse controls.
